Why I Choose Netflix

So tonight I am home alone. The boyfriend is at work, so it is just me, my kitties, my computer, and TV. I am flipping through hundreds of channels and of course, nothing is on. Having a ton of channels isn't always the best idea. Sometimes I want to watch a movie. Having cable doesn't guarantee you movies. Having cable only guarantees you commercial, infomercial, news, and reruns! I am too lazy to get up an put a movie in that I have watched a thousand times. Then it hits me “WATCH NETFLIX!

I have a somewhat newer brand Vizio television. My television actually has Wifi AND it has a Netflix button right on the remote. I have been a Netflix subscriber for over 5 years now. I have watched Netflix on my cell phone, laptop, tablet, Nintendo Wii, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and now my television. I think it's safe to say that Netflix is available on all platforms that connect to the internet. I love the convenience of being able to connect to Netflix from anywhere, especially right from my couch, with my television remote. I digress. So I click the Netflix button on my remote and my pre-signed in account pops right up! Yay! I now have hundreds of movies and shows to choose from.

It is November 14th at 12:20am. The Dumb and Dumber To movie has just released today. I am going to see it on my birthday, which is in 2 days. So as you may have guessed where this is going, I chose to watch the Classic Comedy Dumb and Dumber. I haven't seen this film since I was a kid. With the new one on my schedule, I figured, why not take this opportunity to remind myself of the great humor that this involves! Back when this movie first came out, the only way you were going to watch it is if you purchased it on video. Mind you, that Dumb and Dumber came out 20 years ago! Yes! Do you feel old now? I sure as heck do. So, 20 years ago means that the only way we could watch this movie was on VHS. We could take a trip to the video rental store and HOPE that it was available or we could spend $20 to purchase it. By the time we went through all of that trouble, we would probably not feel like watching the movie at all anymore. While I admit, there is some nostalgia in going to the video rental store, it is no secret that it is MUCH easier to push a few buttons and watch it from home!

So THIS, my friends, is why I choose Netflix. Netflix never disappoints me. Their movies and shows always stream seamlessly. They typically have what I am looking for or they have SOMETHING that I am in the mood. Other streaming services either do not stream well or they barely have anything to choose from. Netflix is affordable and reliable! That is why I choose Netflix. Every. Single. Time.

What do you choose on a late night alone?
