Mi Bella Reina – Vegan Loose Mineral Shimmer Shadows

Mi Bella Reina Loose Mineral Shimmer Shadows in Tea Rose and Rich Iris #BellaGirl #Bblogger

So, I am officially a Bella Girl! That means that I will be testing Mi Bella Reina's new products and telling you my honest thoughts on them. If you aren't familiar with the brand, they are beyond beauty. They are so much more because they care about the cosmetics that they produce and the customers that are using them. They have vegan makeup that is free of any toxic or harsh ingredients: oil-free, dye-free, gluten-free, and more!

I am obsessed with beauty products. As soon as I checked out Mi Bella Reina, I knew that I wanted to be a Bella Girl. The first items that I chose to review were the loose mineral shimmer shadows. I love loose mineral shadows, so I had to give them a try. I'm not going to lie, their adorable packaging is what really pushed me to try the shadows first. The shadows come in little tubes with an adorable little brush. I've never seen a shadow container like this, so it's a nice touch. I will say, however, that it is a bit difficult to get to the shadow when it gets low. That's something that they might need to redesign. I do like the lid and the brush though, it's a very unique touch and makes traveling with Mi Bella Reina that much easier.

I chose the Rich Iris and Tea Rose colors because they really caught my eye and I figured they'd be pretty with my blue eyes. These shadows aren't as pigmented as I expected, but I can work with them. The good thing about mineral shadows is that you can apply them wet or dry. Basically, you can apply them as they are or you can wet your eyelids with a shadow primer and apply the loose mineral shadow on top of it. This typically brings out the vibrant color of the shadows.

I love the Tea Rose because it matches me skin perfectly. I like to add it under my brow bone and blend it into my shadow because it gives a little light shimmer on my skin. It's also beautiful to apply to your lips on top of your lipstick, to give in a little shimmer (yes, you can apply mineral shadow to your lips). If your skin is light like mine, don't expect this color to be very noticeable on you. I recommend applying it on top of other colors.

The Rich Iris was a bit disappointing. I wanted the pigment to be more apparent and vibrant. It turned out to be very light. Although, when I apply a few layers it looks pretty. I cannot blame the company though because if you read the description it specifically says “light, natural looking coverage”. I don't mind how light it is now that I know what to expect, but if you're expecting bright then this isn't for you.

All of the Mi Bella Reina shadows are so soft and smooth. They are practically weightless on your skin and removing the shadow is simple. The powder is so smooth and you don't need to worry about it dropping on areas of your face when applying it. You can tell just by the texture and look of these shadows that they are all natural! These shadows are great when you want to add a little color to your eyes on a nice casual day!
