We all know that 3D printing is the new craze. It's a cool step up for technology. I've always wondered about 3D printers. I've wondered if they are underwhelming or if they really are something to brag about. I haven't tried an actual printer, but the CreoPop 3D Printing Pen is pretty epic.
First, let me say that the set up is simple is you follow the Quick Start Guide. There aren't any complicated steps that would stop you from using your pen right away. After charging our new pen, we were ready to create something amazing. Well, we tried at least.
Actually drawing with the pen is not as easy as it looks. It's definitely something that will take practice. I asked my boyfriend to draw a simple heart with the pen for now. When you push the button to draw an LED light illuminates your work space. This is a great way to stay focused, but the light bothers your eyes after awhile. To draw, you will hold the pen just like you would any writing utensil. You even draw the same way. We used the box as our “canvas”. I would say that the difficult part is keeping your pen directly on the surface because lifting it creates a space in your art. Also, the ink continues to come our of the pen, so if your drawing is done ink is being wasted.
The ink itself is really nice. It doesn't have a strange smell as you'd expect with basically melting plastic. The ink dries into a plastic-like material. The colors are vibrant and pretty, too. They have a ton of unique ink, like body paint ink and glow-in-the-dark ink. They even have aromatic ink!
Overall, I think the CreoPop pen is awesome. It's cordless, safe, and easy to use and switch between colors. While it does take a lot of patience and concentration, I think it's a great piece of technology that a lot of individuals would appreciate. I recommend it for adults or older children because the “ink” can be hot right after drawing.
