To Whom It May Concern

To whom it may concern,

I am Joyce and I am full.
I am full of love, life, emotions, and experiences.
I am empty.
I am empty from all of the love that you took from me; empty from the childhood that you stole from me; empty from the spirit that you broke.

To whom it may concern,

I am a warrior.
I have fought my entire life. I have fought for love. I have fought for survival. I have fought for my voice to be heard. I am have fought to be noticed. I have fought to hold back tears. I have fought to hold back a laugh. I have fought to be missed. I have fought to be forgotten.

I am more than an image.
I have a heart. I have a soul. I have thoughts, opinions, beliefs. I have pain. I have love. I have hate. I have longing. I have resentment.
I am more than a random woman sitting on a bench. I am more than a girl with curves that you stare down when I walk by you. I am more than a pretty smile in a photo on Facebook.

To whom it may concern,

I am a memory.
I am someone's bitter memory that they want to forget. I haunt someone's dreams. I am the echo in their empty bedroom that they just can't get rid of.
I am someone's sweetest memory. Someone reminisces and sees my smiling face. Someone misses the look in my eyes and my sarcastic ways. Someone remembers my witty sarcasm and wishes I were still busting their chops.

To whom it may concern,

I am a work in progress.
I am a smile waiting to happen. I am a thought waiting to cross your mind. I am a goddess waiting to flourish. I am a writer trying to find my niche. I am a woman trying to find my confidence.

I am a soulful, spiritual, emotional, self-aware, sweet, sarcastic, happy, deep, loving woman and I'd like to be treated that way.

To whom it may concern,

Please remember that I am not perfect. I am damaged. I am fragile. I am trying. I am giving everything that I can. I deserve real I love Yous, real I Miss Yous. I deserve to be missed and loved. I deserve to be remembered. I deserve to be understood and appreciated. I deserve to be respected.

To whom it may concern,

If you aren't adding joy to my life, then you can take your negativity and leave. I deserve so much more than part-time friends, broken promises, and disappearing acts.

The point of this hop is for our readers to get to know us on a personal level.

Please hop along and read all of the blog posts in this weeks hop. Just click the links below. If you want real and raw emotion, then you will find it here. After you read each post, please comment and share. We want to get to know you too!

  3. SJ says:

I love this. This needs to be read at a spoken word night. People need to hear you express these words as well see them written.

  4. Dani says:

I absolutely love this post Joyce, it’s perfect in every way. It’s so honest and raw. I can agree to each one of these. Thank you for sharing!

    Well said!
We all deserve to be heard and to feel appreciated and loved. We are so much more than what people see, what they think.

You are doing great things and moving forward. Someday those that don’t appreciate will come to realize their mistake. This is something I have to tell myself constantly whether it be from old friends or family who just don’t see. 🙂

Thanks for sharing! I appreciate all the work that goes into holding these #hoppingbloggers hops! I love it. <3
