Do you ever see a woman with their kids and think, “I'd love to be friends with her!” I find myself thinking this often, but it's not what you think. I love seeing a mother that's very kind and nurturing. I think it's a beautiful thing. However, there's something about the mom playing pranks on her kids, allowing them to dye their hair crazy colors, and pull all-nighters that I love. I love watching the women who keep it real with their kids. I like people who don't take life too seriously. Those are the women I'd like to be friends with.
I think these things when I watch movies and television, too. I love movies that depict families in an honest way. So, here is my list of the coolest bad moms in the history of film (I'm sure I've forgotten a few)!
1. Bad Moms
In this hilarious and heartfelt comedy from the writing duo behind The Hangover, Amy (Mila Kunis) has a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, over-achieving kids, beautiful home and a career. However, she's over-worked, over-committed and exhausted to the point that she's about to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other over-stressed moms (Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn) on a quest to liberate themselves from conventional responsibilities – going on a wild, un-mom-like binge of long overdue freedom, fun and self-indulgence – putting them on a collision course with PTA Queen Bee Gwendolyn (Christina Applegate) and her clique of devoted perfect moms (Jada Pinkett Smith and Annie Mumolo). 2. Kelly Radner – Neighbors 2
Just to refresh your memory, Kelly and Mac are the couple in Neighbors 2 next door to the insane sorority house. In Neighbors 2, you see Kelly and Mac try to raise their baby while dealing with the ridiculous neighbors. I think Kelly is amazing! I call her a bad mom because, well, there's a point where the child is playing an adult toy. It's absolutely hilarious. She and Mac are trying so hard to be great parents, but they just can't win. I'd love to be friends with Kelly. She's pretty badass, if you ask me!
3. Roseanne Conner – Roseanne
Roseanne Conner is probably my favorite tv mom of all time. She's hilarious and has absolutely no filter. She makes meatloaf with cornflakes, lives on a very tight budget, and makes jokes are her children's expense. She couldn't be amore fun bad mom. Who wouldn't want to be friends with someone that is as sarcastic as her? It's always a good time and a surprise.
4. Lois – Malcolm in the Middle
Oh, Lois. She is a loose cannon. She yells, gives “the look”, and has probably said a few things she didn't really mean a time or two. While she may be a tad bit out of her mind, I think she's great. I like the crazies. What can I say? The crazier you are, the more comfortable I feel being my wild and crazy self.
5. Lois – Family Guy
I bet you didn't expect to see this on my list. Lois from Family Guy. Yeah, you know – the raunchiest cartoon to ever make it onto television. If you thought Simpsons was bad then Family Guy would make you want to confess your sins. I personally think Family Guy is hilarious and Lois, oh Lois. She can be sarcastic, hott, and very loving at times. She looks so well put together but inside she's just as wild as her weird husband, Peter. With as many times as Stewie has tried to kill her and almost died himself, you cannot deny that she's a “bad mom”. But a cool one.
