Empathy. It's something that our world lacks. It's something that children need to understand at a very young age. Empathy could would save the entire world. I was born an empath. I've always called it a blessing and a curse because it's almost as if I have no control over my own emotions. I've lived my life feeling like an outcast because of my empathy, being stigmatized as an emotional woman. Empathy is so much more than being emotional, though.
I just finished watching one of the most inspiring, honest documentaries I've ever seen. Life, Animated is about a boy with autism that couldn't speak, but found a way to communicate through animated Disney films.
It took me an incredibly long time to climb out of a hole that I dug for myself when I let others define my self worth. Sometimes changing your life means taking things one step at a time. I think it's important to work on yourself from the inside out.
