10 Romantic Gestures That Men Neglect

Ladies, we have all been there before: You are in a relationship (or marriage) for awhile and your partner stops doing all of the sweet little things that he used to do. The fact is that people get too comfortable and they neglect to show affection like they used to. You know they love you, but it sure feels good when they go out of their way to show it. The truth is that most women are really easy to impress. It is the small romantic (and cliché) gestures that women not-so secretly enjoy.

Chances are that your beau doesn't even realize that he is slacking off a little bit or maybe he never even realized how much you appreciated these gestures. Either way, I think it's time that men realize that what they “used to do” is what we fell in love with. Sometimes, men underestimate the power of something simple. It's time that we let them in on the secret. Share this post to “hint in” that they need to step their games up, not only for Valentine's Day, but for every day.

1. Sending Flowers

This is probably something you did to win her over. Maybe you sent her flowers when you were dating or maybe you sent her flowers during the “honeymoon stage” when you both were head-over-heels in love with each other. It is something that you used to do and it has stopped, WHY? Send her flowers for no reason at all. Every lady knows that the best flowers are the “just because” flowers. Maybe they include a sweet love note or a funny inside joke. This is very cliche, but it is a romantic gesture that will make a lady smile from ear to ear! There is no better feeling than an unexpected flower delivery from the guy you love. Guys, this is the most neglecting romantic gesture!

2. Handwritten Love Notes

I know! It is so cheesy. Love notes are so outdated and forgotten these days. I think that love notes are the sweetest romantic gestures that a man can make. They come from the heart, so women really appreciate them (especially emotional women). If you aren't one to share your feelings often, then this will be even more special to your lady. Even if you are handwriting lyrics of a song that reminds you of her, it is a very sweet gesture that will have any lady bragging to her friends. Plus, it is something that your woman will keep forever.

Ladies, we have all been there before: You are in a relationship (or marriage) for awhile and your partner stops doing all of the sweet little things that he used to do. The truth is that most women are really easy to impress. It is the small romantic (and cliché) gestures that women not-so secretly enjoy.

3. Holding Her Close

I love to be held close in public. I want my man to put his arm around me when we are walking. It makes me feel good. It makes me feel like he is telling the world, “This is MY woman and I am damn proud of it!” Women love that feeling. It is something that gets neglected after men get comfortable. Holding a woman close makes her feel like she is young again and like the relationship is new again. I get excited when my partner grabs me and pulls me in close to him; all women do. So guys, hold her close by putting your arm around her should or her waist and watch her melt in your arms.

4. Telling Her She's Beautiful

This is what men don't understand. A woman wants to be told she is beautiful first thing in the morning with no makeup on AND she wants to be told she is beautiful after she gets all dressed up. She wants to know that you think she is beautiful at her best and worst. NEVER EVER think that she just “knows” that you think she is beautiful. You have to tell her all the time, on any occasion, at any age. When a woman knows her man thinks she is beautiful, she will feel beautiful.

5. Smacking Her Butt

hahaha. Yes, it sounds funny, but I am serious. Give her behind a smack every once in awhile and call her sexy. Let her know that she is desirable and you are still attracted to her. It will surprise her, but in a very good way. Don't be afraid to be playful like this. She is your girl.

6. Smiling At Her

Uh, HELLO. It shouldn't be that hard to stare at your woman and automatically smile. When your wife catches you staring and smiling at her, I guarantee that she will smile back. Think about how beautiful she is and why you fell in love with her. When you come home from work, smile at her. When you wake up in the morning, smile at her. Let her know that just being around her makes you happy, even if you aren't in a good mood. Is this romantic? Yes. Anything that makes your lady feel special is.

7. Date Nights

All relationships need dates. No matter how old or new your relationship is, a date is important. It doesnt have to be something expensive or formal. A simple dinner and a movie will do. Even if you are taking her on a walk or a picnic, quality time is very important. Make sure this “date” isn't like an ordinary day. Treat her like you did when you first met. Open doors for her, hold her hand, make her laugh, talk with her. Make these dates very special. Switch things up a little bit, so she will know how important making her happy is.

8. Expressing Yourself

Let her know how much she means to you. Have a heart to heart with her and make sure it is face to face. Don't just tell her I LOVE YOU. Tell her WHY you love her. Make is unique to her. Don't just say, “because you are cute.” Say, “I love how cute you are when you embarrass yourself and your cheeks turn pink.” Think about why you really love her. Think about the little quirky traits she has. Randomly express yourself to her and I promise your relationship will grow.

9. Surprising Her

Women love gifts, but it doesn't have to be an extravagant purchase! Sometimes the sweetest gift is when you pick up a bag of chips that your lady loves. Showing up with my favorite snack or drink is something that will really make me swoon. It's knowing that you were thinking of her that makes her feel so special. Not only that, but the fact that you know her well enough to pick up something that she loves, reminds her of why she loves you so much. You could even surprise her with a date or a Redbox movie! The thrill never ends when your relationship is full of fun, romance, and surprises.

10. Thanking Her

This may not necessarily fit into the “romantic gestures” category, but men need to remember to always thank their women. I think it is very sweet when my man notices that I accomplished something or did something sweet for him. Thank her for cooking, cleaning, or for just being the great woman that she is. It makes her feel appreciated and more inclined to do more sweet things for you!
